CONFESSOR - Sour Times EP
These guys are pretty good. They should be, they have been around since the mid 80's, so they have had lots of time to perfect their sound although they have had some problems. They did have a loss in the band and they went on hold for a while until they had a benefit show, which after that, they decided to regroup and put out the album Sour Times. Have a melodic thrash rock sound to them. Singer reminds me of the philadelphia band Starkweather. They have a great tempo to them. Their guitar riffs are punchy and the drum beats match perfectly with the guitars. The band will be putting out another album later this year.

THE CREST - Vain City Chronicles
Female rock vocals with a metal band. They blend great together. Vocally, she reminds me of a mix between Jack Off Jill singer on the Clear Hearts Grey Flowers CD and Anneke from the Gathering. She has the potential to be screaming if she wants, but is sticking to the soothing vocals. The music is heavy rock sounding. The band reminds of Lullacry. Very guitar oriented. Great CD.

DAWN OF RELIC - Night on Earth
This band has been around for over 10 years now and just lost a key member of the band, their guitar and bass player Pekka. This album will be released to all on September 5th, and I don't believe anyone will be disappointed. These guys have a very Swedish metal sound to them, even though they are from Finland. They really remind me of Soilwork and even Arch Enemy, when they were good (which hasn't been recently). Their guitar riffs are catchy and the entire band has a good sound to them.

THE OLD DEAD TREE -The Perpetual Motion
I actually know who these guys are, when I was on the Metal @ Metal forum, we use to trade CD's and this was one of the bands I picked up. Everyone there raved about them and rightfully so, they are really good. They have a different, unique sound to them. They have a modern day rock sound in parts (For example, the Killers), and a doomy death metal sound to them too. They have had a death in the band and a few member changes, but with this release, they do not miss a beat.
